Congratulations to Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati for being awarded a one-year partial sabbatical by the Keck School of Medicine for the academic year 2025-2026. She will focus on acquiring new skills in narrative medicine and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, as well as art meets science communication strategies to optimize educational messaging in cancer prevention and control, and concomitant chronic diseases (also known as comorbidity or multimorbidity). Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati will be taking courses at Columbia University and Ragan Communications and will serve as a visiting scholar at the Italian National Institute of Health in Rome, Italy.

We are excited for Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati and look forward to learning how she will apply her expertise and new tools in her work.
