Congratulations to the Young Adults Workforce Academy graduating fellows at the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM), USC. This past Saturday, June 21, we celebrated their achievements as they obtained eight certificates that give them an edge in workforce readiness. Thank you to Dean Carolyn Meltzer, KSOM Dean, for funding this program and for sharing her career journey with the Young Adult Workforce Academy cohort. We would also like to thank our keynote speaker for the graduation, Dr. Ricky Bluthethal, Interim Chair of the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences (PPHS). Thank you to both for their continued support and inspiration.
A huge shout out to Dr. Patricia Escobedo, who leads the program out of the Dean’s Office of Community and Workforce Development, along with Rosa Barahona and Letech Caldera! We are very grateful for our partners, especially the Weingart YMCA, University Relations, Keck Medicine, and the Physician Assistant Pathways Program. Special thanks to the parents from neighborhoods surrounding the USC Health Science Campus, who have enthusiastically supported their children and this program. Fight On, graduates!
